SeatGuru.com - Helps find the perfect seat on airlines. Started in 2001 by Matthew Daimler, it was recently sold. It claimed 700,000 visitors/month, $10,000-20,000/month in Adsense earnings and they also make more from other ad deals. They were sold, but the selling price was not disclosed.
Review: Great site, with plenty of type-ins. This is the kind of site that will catch on, could be easy to maintain, and be a cash cow.
Freeweblayouts.net - Standard Myspace site started by near-teenagers. They claim $100,000/month in earnings.
Review: This site obviously gets a ton of traffic, but relies on search engines and the inability of its users to wade through a sea of ads to find content. I’m not sure about freeweblayouts.net, but many Myspace sites used to display $4/click insurance ads and violate almost every terms of service possible. I have had a Myspace site that got a decent amount of traffic but only achieved a CPM of 1. To get $100,000 with a CPM of 1, they would need 100,000,000 impressions. They would be hard pressed to sell this site and Google could turn off their search traffic at any time.
Revenute.com shows website earnings and traffic.
